Industrial sewing machines are designed for mass production in sewing factories or other industrial sectors, and are widely used in manufacturing industries such as garment, footwear, luggage and bag production.
Classified by their popularity of use, industrial sewing machines fall into three major categories: general-purpose sewing machinery, special-purpose sewing machinery, and decorative sewing machinery.
- General-purpose sewing machinery is the most common type of industrial sewing machine. Suitable for sewing various textiles, it includes lockstitch machines, overlock machines, coverstitch machines, etc. These machines feature high versatility and flexibility, enabling them to complete a variety of sewing tasks.
- Special-purpose sewing machinery refers to machines designed for specific industries or specific sewing tasks, such as buttonhole machines, bar-tacking machines, and button-sewing machines. They usually come with special needles, thread spools or functions, making them suitable for sewing specific materials or processes.
- Decorative sewing machinery is mainly used for decorative sewing on textiles, garments, etc., with examples including embroidery machines and lace machines.
